I wear white when I wanna wear white.

dress: clothes swap. shoes&tights: target

I got this dress for a $1 at a clothing swap/sale at Panache on Saturday. It was awesome! I hope they do another one real sooooooon.

I definitely don't care about the whole "don't wear white after labor day." What does that even mean? Isn't every day after labor day? Does that mean that a man can't wear a white shirt to church? Or a woman can't wear a white tank top or shirt? I just think it's silly and someone made it up to watch all of us question whether we should wear white or not. I say curse you fake rule maker! Curse you.

I like nice people.

shirt, shoes, bag: thrifted, pants: I made um

People have been waaaaay too nice to me today.
1. Cute Jen gave Rob and me some clothes! I love free. Also, she gave us potatoes and carrots from her and her hubby's garden. How presh is that?
2. My adorable neighbor brought over pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. !9274052704h9hf^75$! You don't understand how bad I've been wanting these cookies. I have been dreaming of them.
3. And my husband is always nice to me. I like him. :)

Have a fabulous weekend! Go be nice to someone!

Sick day.

pants: I made um. shirt: gap, shoes and headband: thrifted

I woke up at 2 am feeling.... AWFUL. I was up until 5 or so with a bad stomach and when the alarm went off at 6:30---there was no way I could go to class. I woke up feeling just as bad. So, I stayed home. I don't really like missing class, because who likes make up work on top of everything else you have? But sometimes to feel better you have to take a day off. Soooo, that's what I did. I did finish making these pants though today. One for the win! Ugh, but my stomach is still in nots. Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel much better.

I wore this twice.

sweater & shirt: thrifted, shoes: charlotte russe, scarf: gift, pants: ross

I wore this after church on Sunday to dinner at Rob's parents and then again on Monday. But on Monday I wore socks and sparkly shoes. I do this often. I wear something on Sunday, no one sees me but Rob and then I wear again to school on Monday. It's a good routine. Plus it gives my mind a break for trying to figure out what to wear. CHACHING.

I'm trying to be Zooey.

shirt: forever 21, skirt: thrifted, shoes: target

Rob has a secret love obsession with Zooey Deschanel. I mean, who doesn't? In hopes to make Rob fall even more in love with me, I took the plunge and got her bangzz. I think it worked. Rob said, "You're even more beautiful than Zooey." Mission accomplished.

Be Brave. Stay Positive.

Welp. Sorry I haven't been around much. This is my fifth semester in a row. I had the seven week break to rest, but now I'm back in the game of managing time. With school and work I've found myself throwing things aside that maybe aren't as important. That definitely includes this little blog of mine. As much as I love blogging and clothes, it's going to have to come second. My classes this semester are really, really hard. I stayed up until 1 am and woke up at 4 am two nights this week to finish projects. It's exhausting. But it's okay. Because I know these classes are going to help me become the designer I dream of being.

My whole life I've been too nervous and scared to do what I want to do. A lot of the reasons are really personal and some really silly. But I've come up with a motto this semester that I will be living by---Be Brave. Stay Positive.

I struggle with taking risks. I never think that I have the ability to develop my dreams. I coward behind fear and let others succeed before me. But I'm changing this. I will be brave. I will take chances. I'll make mistakes. I'll change my attitude. I am able. I am capable. I am talented. What a rush it is to say all of that and finally believe it. I can be successful. I can and I will. Things can be hard and challenging and that is where staying positive comes into play. I am the master of my emotions. I can either decide to be negative or look for the positive in everything.

Be Brave. Stay Positive.

Maybe I'll do better at Christmas.

blouse: thrifted, pants: I made um, shoes: forever 21

Rob's birthday (the big 25!) is on Sunday and I have successfully shown him all of his presents already. First, I hid a shirt I bought him in the car. He found it yesterday. Then I tried to make him a bow tie and well.... that just didn't work out so I showed him. Then we were at walmart and he says: "OH MY GOSH! STAR TREK IS ONLY $5!!" (nerd). "Uhhh... I was totes going to get you that. Guess we'll just buy it now." Then I decided to make him a sweatshirt this morning but then realized there was no way I could hid my sewing machine, so he knows. Welp, I am ultimately the worst present giver ever. Better luck on Christmas I suppose.

Things that made me happy.

Today wasn't as good as yesterday. I'm not all excited about the two out of my three classes I had today. The teachers are just kinda.... blah. But hopefully I'll get a better attitude. It's all about being positive, right? Things that did make me happy today included:
1. a girl in one of my classes coming up to me and saying she loves my blog. Seriously made my day. Sometimes I feel like no one really knows about my blog and it was so sweet of her to say something. She's a little cutie.
2. Rob coming home from work today. He worked all day and it was soooo good to finally see him walk through that door at 6:30. Hugs and kisses make everything better.
3. The dinner I  made was BOMB.

First Day.

shirt, jacket: thrifted, pants: ross

Today was the first day of my 6th semester of college. Two semesters to go! Woop woop! I LOVED my classes today. I'm taking Fitting and Alteration and then Children's Sewing. So excited! Tomorrow I have my final foundation class (thank the almighty heavens), Textiles, and Fashion Design and Merchandising. Can I get a heck ya?
