Pick me up.

Shirt & Sweater: thrifted, Pants & Shoes: Target, Headthingy: I made it.

A couple days ago, I was stressed. Wedding countdown t-minus 9 days, 3 hours, 33 minutes. Plus, it's finals week. I have a lot to do in the next week. I was about to cry just thinking about all I had to do. So I text Rob. My best friend. My love. My support.

Me: I'm really stressed.
Rob: Yeah? Come pick me up.

Rob's a smart boy. Never misses class. Listens. Participates. And he ditches class to make lunch and shnuggle on the couch with me. I've never made a better decision then marrying this boy. 9 days my love, 9 more days and you are mine forever.

Guest Post: From a Heart Overflowing.

I love to host new bloggers here on good ol' thrifted things. Amanda e-mailed me asking if she could do a guest post, and let me tell you, she's just the cutest thing evaa. Check out those dresses she thrifted! Daaaang, girl. I"m jealous.

Well hello there! My name is Amanda and I run From a Heart Overflowing! I’m a college sophomore originally from Puerto Rico but now living in Northern Arizona. I spend my days baking, drinking coffee, exercising, thrifting, crafting, playing with babies, and laughing like a crazy lady with my family or my mister of three years, Jacob. I’m a huge fan of lace, seeing the beauty in everything, floral patterns, watches, anything and everything chocolate, blazers, dancing in the car, and smiles.

I stumbled across Katherine’s wonderful blog a few months ago and quickly became obsessed. I had never been a huge clothes thrifter but once I started, I couldn’t stop. Being a full time college student and all, the budget for clothes is often quite small so thrifting not only allows me to not spend a load of money, but to also get pieces that others will not have.
Katherine asked me to share some of my favorite thrifted items so here we go!
I just recently purchased this dress at Goodwill for a whole $6 and just love that it’s long enough for my 5’8” frame (which is often difficult to find). It’s a perfect spring dress and I’ve already decided it will absolutely be my Easter dress!
This dress I also bought for $6! I quickly fell in love with the hearts pattern and was so glad when it fit like a size small normally would. Unfortunately, I found it a week after Valentine’s day but I think every day should be full of love so I’m loving wearing this. This cropped blazer is also another thrift find I am in love with that I got for 50 cents. It goes with just about anything!
Let’s be honest, we all have a “back up outfit” we where when nothing else feels right or we’re just in a hurry. This is my go to outfit. I found this blazer for $3 and I wear it several times a week. I also got this purse for $2 recently and I now use it all the time.
Well, thank you for reading! And thank you Katherine for having me!
Feel free to come by fromaheartoverflowing.blogspot.com and say hello!

If you ever get sick of that Easter dress Amanda, please send it my way.
I'm willing and would love for new bloggers to guest post. Just send me an e-mail and we can talk it out :)

I don't know how to be a blogger.

I've been blogging for over a year and I'm still camera shy. I just don't know what to do. I have Rob snap a couple photos and if I even hear the slightest noise, I run. I'm so embarrassed and I don't want people to see me taking pictures of myself... I don't know what to do with my hands. Or my face. Should I try the smoulder? Or should I just look away from the camera entirely? I end up having the same face, just smiling away, thinking "I feel really awkward, I wonder how awkward I really look." Then my feet! I always end up twisting them into some sort of pretzel. What do you do with your feet? And where do you take pictures? I usually stick to my good ol' brick wall. But then I tried to branch out on the right with some trees. Oh goodness, I need blog teaching 101.

Sometimes I dress like I'm from the 80's. It's a problem I suffer from.

Looking through windows.

This video cracked me up. First of all, I want all of her great dresses. And second, what a great message. Also, thanks for all of your sweet comments yesterday. I really appreciate all of you. So much! You have no idea. xoxo
Happy Thursday, friends :)

Being young and in love.

I was in Washington this weekend doing some wedding things. My mom is almost done making my dress! It's beautiful and I love it. I'm so excited. She is such a talented woman. I'm so excited to show you guys the completed piece! I get married in a month! I couldn't be more thrilled. I've had a couple comments on here and even with some friends and associates referring to how young I am and personal opinions. I may only be 20, I may not be done with college yet, or even have a real license yet, but one thing I do know is that I am doing the right thing. In LDS culture, we are taught that families are so important. We are taught to wait to have sexual relations until we are married. We are taught to start our families at a young age and help develop and grow through our Savior, Jesus Christ. That is exactly what I am doing. I have found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. The person I want to have children with. Grow old with. And yes, I am extremely young. If I could control time, I would be older. But I can't. I'm on God's time and if this is what I am suppose to do, then I will. I don't think anyone is ever really ready for marriage. But, I'm ready to take this step in my life and move forward with Rob. I just needed to get that off my chest.
