Dream Job.

shirt, scarf, shoes: thrifted, pants: forever 21 ($2!!)

I was a personal shopper today.
I helped a girl who goes to my church pick out clothes for school.
It was so much fun.
She got almost everything I picked out.

Dream job.
Personal Shopper.
Hire me?

My life would be complete.

The 70's called, they want their pants back.

Never in a million years would I think that I would be caught in these pants...
I'm sorry skinny jeans. I hope we can still be friends.
shirt, pants, belt: kohl's, shoes: target

I went to Kohl's with my mom yesterday and we found these pants.
They were originally for her, but I grabbed my size instead of hers.
I've always been a skinny jean girl.
Now these 1970 jeans have caught my attention.
On a good note, they were on sale for $14 when they were originally $50.
Win.

On a totally different side note, I feel like my hair kind of looks like Taylor Swift's hair.
Maybe.

On another side note, I thrifted this bag today and I'm in love.
I even called my cousin to tell her.
Eeeeek!
It was only $3!!!

Yessssss :]

So ready for fall.

Ignore my crazy hair.
See that scarf up there? ^^^
It's definitely too hot to wear it right now.
But I really want to.
I finished making it last night.
I looooove it.
I want to wear it now.

Fall; where you at?

Hot mama!

shirt, skirt, and belt: thrifted, shoes: the brand is ana? (don't know where she got them but they're cute right?!)

Did I ever tell you guys that I have a really cute mom?
Well, I do.
But her wardrobe has been a little boring lately.
So I asked her if I could dress her this Sunday.
And she let me.
I went shopping in her closet and while I was looking,I thought about this pin below.
This week she is letting me take apart her closet and then I'm taking her thrift store shopping for a new wardrobe.
I feel as though clothes really do have an affect on how you feel about yourself.
I'm really excited to help my mom see what fits and what works for her body.
And show her how she's a hot mama!

Anyone want me to be their personal shopper too?
I would love that :]

ps; I'm featured over HERE today.
Check it.

Mom Pants.

pants(altered), shirt, belt: thrifted, shoes: target, purse: charlotte russe

I'm really into mom pants.
They're my new favorite.
You know what I'm not into anymore?
Summer.
Fall, please hurry up.
I miss you.

Happy Birthday Little Bloggy.

(it's birthday was really yesterday, and I forgot to post this, woooopsy)
I can't believe it's already been a year.
I started this blog a year ago not thinking it would go anywhere.
Thank you SO much for all of the loves and support I've been given.
I truly do love all the sweet comments I receive every day.
I went through all my posts today, reminiscing on my past.
Isn't it crazy how time flies?
I've made a list of things I want to improve on as a blogger.
1. be better at responding to comments.
Guys, I'm horrible at this! BUT, I am really good on e-mailing back, so try that if you really want to know something :)
2. Learn how to make a super sweet layout.
I've been blogging for a year and I'm so not technology-savvy.
3. Blog more.
I'm in college and I'm BEYOND busy. But I'm really going to make an effort to blog more.

Thanks for sticking around my friends.
I love having you around.
You really do make me all happy inside :]

Domestic-ness.

I made dinner last night.
And I even set the table nice.
(there's a candle in the mason jar!!)

On the menu: burgers, BLT noodle salad, strawberries
YUUUUM :)
I kinda like being domestic.
This cooking thing might stick.
Time to save up for my own appliances and get them at a good price from Sears!

Overalls are not just for farmers. Or kids.

My dad told me I needed to take pictures by this bush. There you go pops.
overalls, sandals, purse: thrifted, shirt: my mom's, bow:made by me

These overalls were originally long, but I cut them off and made the shorter!
I really like them and they're comfy.
My grandma hates when people who aren't farmers wear overalls.
This one for you grammy ;]

I went grocery shopping in this little number and I'm making dinner for my fam tonight!
Domestic goddess in training.
Ohhh, yup.

Thriftastic.

I'm guest bloggin it up over at The Unmistakable Allens today.
I met Sara at a blogger party.
She is seriously SO nice and such a cutie.
I love running into her at campus.

Now, go read about some thrifting advice :]

Peachy.

This outfit looks way better in person.
shorts, belt, shoes: thrifted, shirt: walmart

I got my hair cut.
Whatya think?
I like bangs a lot, but I'm unsure if I can really pull them off.

I got dressed for really no reason today.
I'm sitting on my bed just reading.
It's quite peachy if you ask me :]
I got this book (The Brothers by Chris Stewart) a couple years ago and got half way through and never finished.
I restarted it today and I already love it!
Can I share a quote with you guys real fast?

"The great ones may fall. The wicked can change. The weak and the foolish can become the strongest of all."

I just liked that.

Have a fun weekend :]

Blog Swap: The Daily Dani

My very first blog swap!!
You can catch me over here today.
Take it away Dani :)

{Top & bangles: Forever 21| Skirt: Thrifted | Sandals: Salt Water | Heart pin: bando | Heart necklace: Julie's | Multicolored necklace: Gift from Brazil | Watch: Nordstrom}

Hello, you fabulous (and frugal) fashionistas! I'm so excited to be swapping my blog (The Daily Dani) with the sweet and most adorable Katherine today! I upped my eclectic factor and embraced my bigger, Katherine-esque curls so it wouldn't be too much of a shock! ;)

I must admit to all of you wonderful Thrifted Things readers: I haven't thrifted anything in a very, very long time. I used to be a major thrifter - vintage and thrift shops were my first stop everywhere I went. Somewhere along the years, I grew out of the affinity, but I just couldn't let go of this absolutely amazing skirt! I got it at a shop on Kauai on vacation with my family about 6 years ago! I haven't worn it in ages, and to be honest, I rarely wore it much to begin with, but something about it is just so incredibly interesting! Look at this wild print! It's definitely handmade, and definitely awesome!

This little swap is definitely making me re-think letting my love for thrifting go, and also making me consider much more fun, bright options in my wardrobe! I think a Goodwill trip is in my very near future!

Make sure you head over to my blog, The Daily Dani, and check out what Katherine's wearing today! And don't worry, even though Thrifted Things is super cozy and comfy, I suppose I'll return it to Katherine now! :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't she cute?!
I'm dying over that skirt.
so so so cute!

xoxo Katherine

Like a lady.

Soooo, I sorta, kinda, may be the worst blogger, ever?
Yeah, I think so.

BUT, I did guest post over here today.

I'm talking about being a lady.
