Hands in my pockets in every picture...

I wore this outfit yesterday and took these pictures yesterday, I just didn't have time to post them and you might be seeing my day 4 outfit tonight if I have time to take pictures.
Kind of a boring outfit, but staying true to my 30!

Happy Friday :)

A skirt made out of Grandpa's old sheets.

My grandpa brought over these old sheets to my house and when I see fabric, all I think is I can make something out of that. So I did.

Details:
Romper(worn as shirt): thrifted, $4
Skirt: made by me
Sweater: thrifted, $5
Tights: Walmart, $5
Shoes: Target, $20
Necklace: from my grandma

My posts seem to involve grandparents lately...

That skirt is the first skirt I've ever made actually.
I had to be a zipper in because I sewed the elastic wrong hehe :)
What can I say, I'm a beginner sewer, I'll get better hopefully.
I like the zipper though, so I guess it's a win.

Grandpa Sweater, Welcome to the Thirty's Club.

I decided to add this grandpa sweater to my 30x30.
It is so comfy and warm and I want to wear it everyday, maybe I will...
Wanna know something sweet about this sweater?
My brother bought it for me for my birthday. How sweet is that? :)
(I picked it out, he bought it, but I'll still give him credit for it ;)

Wahooooo! Got my first outfit out of the way.
To be honest, I'm still kind of scared how I'll do with this challenge.
I look at the pile of clothes I chose and I get nervous.
Wish me luck you guys!

30x30

Here are my picks for the 30x30
I actually only have 28 items...
Any ideas what I should add?

ps;
25/28 of my items are thrifted.
I figured since my blog is called "thrifted things"
most of my items should be from a thrift store.

Sophie's Blooming Bib Recycled T-Shirt Necklace.

I made a cool necklace last night out of one of my daddy's old polos.
My cousin had a tutorial how to do it and you can find it here :)
This is how mine turned out. It doesn't look as good as Sophie's, but I tried my best!
Outfit Deets:
Sweater: Rave, $20
White v-neck: Walmart, pack of four, $9
Necklace: made by me
Shorts: Best friend gave them to me :)
Belt: thrifted, $1
Tights: mom's closet
Shoes: Old Navy, $20

Make sure you check out the hair tutorial below... :)

I whip my hair back and forth...

I've been asked a couple times how I do my hair.
Today ladies; I will show you the magic.
Just FYI this may not work for everyone.
The people with curly/wavy hair might be in luck though.
Or I might just be the only person who can whip her curly afro back and forth.
I didn't make a video of how I do my hair, I just took pictures.
I have a mouse voice and I don't want to make you guys suffer through watching me talk.
So, you ready to see how I do my hair?

Step 1: A little towel dry wet hair.
Wanna know something kinda weird? I NEVER brush my hair. Ever.
You can if you want to though. I just feel like it takes away the curl if I do brush my hair.
Step 2: The Supplies
The hair dryer I use is a Conair, from Walmart and it was around $20.
My gel also comes from Walmart and it's cheap.
If you want to use nicer gel you can. This gel works well for my hair, but it might not what works best for you.
Step 3: Use three nickel sized amount of gel and work through hair.
Step 4: The Drying
It usually takes about 10 minutes to dry my hair. I dry it upside down first and then I go through on top until my hair is dry.
Step 5: Curly/Wavy hair is complete!
My hair can sometimes get frizzy so I use this sunsilk cream to calm it down a little bit.

There you have it!
I hope that this tutorial will help some of you :)

Let me know if it works for you guys! I would love to see if this works on anyone else!

No pants re-cap.

Sorry that I didn't post a seventh no pants post.
I had to go to Idaho for a funeral and I wore a dress to the funeral, but with the weekend being so busy, I didn't take a picture of my outfit.
But since I wore a skirt the day before the "no pants week" started, I'm just going to count it.
You guys okay with that?
Alright, I'll take that silence as a yes :)

There you have it.
Not wearing any pants: donezo.
