I don't know how to be a blogger.

I've been blogging for over a year and I'm still camera shy. I just don't know what to do. I have Rob snap a couple photos and if I even hear the slightest noise, I run. I'm so embarrassed and I don't want people to see me taking pictures of myself... I don't know what to do with my hands. Or my face. Should I try the smoulder? Or should I just look away from the camera entirely? I end up having the same face, just smiling away, thinking "I feel really awkward, I wonder how awkward I really look." Then my feet! I always end up twisting them into some sort of pretzel. What do you do with your feet? And where do you take pictures? I usually stick to my good ol' brick wall. But then I tried to branch out on the right with some trees. Oh goodness, I need blog teaching 101.

I always have to take my pics on campus since I don't have time at home.... and people are always walking by.. I always just brush my hands through my hair and walk around in a circle -_- haha it's so totally awkward,I hate it!!! But it must be done! For the sake of bloggerism! I want to be you!

  6. I feel the same way! The only way I can take pictures is with a self-timer alone in my bedroom. I tell my husband he is NOT ALLOWED to come into the bedroom when I'm doing pictures because I feel so embarrassed. And even then I still just do the same old boring pose. I used to try to to do a fashion blog, but I got sick of taking embarrassing photos, so I closed it and now I just occasionally do some Pinterest outfit posts on my normal blog. Some bloggers are really natural and always look super cute. And then some bloggers are obviously trying too hard, and you can tell in most pictures (but I've never thought that about you). I like your blog!

  8. cute cute cute jeans, lady! and i think you are an amazing blogger :) i can completely relate to being camera shy/not knowing how to pose. i always stand in the exact same position, with my arms on my hips, and my feet are usually moving/trying to stand still at the same time. maybe it means we are "real" bloggers or something? i like to think so :) have a great monday, love!

  9. Oh sweetie, you are definitely not alone. Any time I take outfit photographs, I feel incredibly awkward. I'm even to a point where I don't let my boy take them anymore, I just stick to my tripod. Psh, maybe awkward is just the BEST vibe to have, because you always look adorable.

  10. Please don't do the smoulder! Looking away from the camera can be a good way to look "serious" without really trying to be serious. Do you follow Delightfully Tacky? She made a blog post all about this that really helped me :) http://www.delightfully-tacky.com/2012/03/tips-for-taking-your-own-outfit-photos.html

p.s. Even though you feel awkward, you still look cute

  11. Darlin', you are adorable so just be confident! Just be natural. And if people stare at you while you are taking photos take it as a compliment.

  13. I'm the same way! That's why I normally stick to my backyard or somewhere inside my house... when no one else is home haha!
I love your photos though :) sometimes a smile is better than a regular ol' fashion blogger-uber-serious face anyway!

  15. Oh, I understand not wanting people to see you take your photos. I do the same thing daily. But you always look so relaxed and happy in your pictures! Love how casual and fun this outfit feels. The green bottoms are perfection!

  17. I think you're pictures are great! I still feel super awkward too and run away when I see people. I also haven't told anyone about my blog, and a lady in my ward asked me the other day if I did photography because she sees me outside taking pictures with my husband. Busted!
Just be confident! You always look great! and I think you're absolutely beautiful!

  20. he he - ohmygosh, I still feel the same way as this after many years of blogging!! lol. I found taking self-portraits really helped me find what angles of close-ups I like the best, but body shots evade me. And I think your pretzel feet are cute! :) (Maybe cuz I do the same? lol).
