I had to teach a class at church todays you guys.
It was super last minute.
By last minute, I mean I literally walked in and had to start teaching.
They were short teachers so they asked me to cover.
I had to teach four years olds...
I'm kind of scared of kids. And my mom genes have definitely not come in yet.
(read this post if you want to know about my fear) But I have wanted experiences to try and become comfortable with children.
First five minutes I'm there, one of the kids just cries and cries and is yelling for their mom. I don't know what to do or what to say. I just hold him and keep repeating "it's okay, your mom will come get you later." That didn't really work...
Then the lesson is on nature...?
How is that even a lesson?
I'm sorry, I had nothing to say.
Uhm, birds are nice and they eat bugs for us?
I resorted to coloring for a good 25 minutes.
I felt so awkward teaching and I didn't know what to say at all.
At least it was practice, right?
I hope my mommy genes come soon.
